Im over playing these games

Take This , a mental health nonprofit organization that focuses on supporting the games industry and community, and the Fair Play Alliance , a games industry coalition that shares best practices in supporting healthy player interactions, are doing just that. Governments, too, should get involved, according to the ADL. Legislation targeted at curbing misinformation and divisive speech within traditional social media platforms, for instance, could be expanded to address online gaming toxicity. But aside from all of these organizational approaches, the most effective way to curb toxicity in online gaming starts from the bottom up, through individual actors who actively confront such behavior.

Of course, this is easier said than done. In one study , more than three quarters of college-age gamers reported that racist, sexist, or homophobic comments in online games should be confronted, but less than a fifth of those individuals reported that they actually do.

Another study, conducted in collaboration with WIRED , found that people who support the Black Lives Matter movement are also likely to stand up to bullying and harassment online, but only a small portion of participants said they do so to a strong extent. Similarly, in the ADL study , fewer than half of respondents said they reported toxicity using in-game tools.

The reasons for not reporting included the effort required in the reporting process, reports not being effective or taken seriously, or toxicity being a normalized part of the play experience. Ultimately, gaming culture must change—and this can start in the home. Playing video games as a family has been shown to increase closeness and provide opportunities for modeling appropriate behaviors. Additionally, initiatives like Raising Good Gamers are engendering cultural change by empowering youth to support each other as they develop respectful social interactions in online gaming.

Most concretely, we, as parents, teachers, and friends, must encourage an upstander culture—where gamers stand up against toxicity—instead of a bystander culture, where toxicity is ignored and normalized. Research on cyberbullying suggests that those who speak out are usually driven by a high-order moral reasoning.

If you are a gamer and have read this far, then you probably understand and hopefully agree with the moral reasoning here. Consider bringing these issues to their attention.

They have probably been exposed to—or have even already been the target of—severe gaming toxicity, but they might not realize how harmful it is or how they can play a role in stopping it. Gaming toxicity is a worthy foe, a boss-level challenge for us all. Like a virus, the more people are exposed to it, the more it spreads.

But this cultural contagiousness might also be cause for optimism. You can go straight into SMTV, they're self-contained games and this is not a followup to anything. If you want something cheaper, try the Nocturne remastered, or if you still have the 3DS then you can get SMT4 for cheap in the eshop. SoulNomadGig 2 months ago 3. Hell, I dunno. The beginning is generally very difficult but once you get a library of demons the game becomes much easier.

If you played Etrian Odyssey the battles is similar to that in the sense that at the start you'll be running back and forth healing after every battle.

But yeah, the connection between games is very small the series is like Final Fantasy in that each game is self contained mostly.
