After pics - VFD and knobs for new downfeed handle should be here Monday Very nice! I love the Buffalo 21's! Just found out, this is a bench model, but he has the post from a second drill press that fits it, making it a floor model. He said it's in good condition, an older model.
Re: buffalo drill press - are they any good? Jump on it. If it is the import Buffalo from Asia, you can buy the same thing at HF. The company I worked for had 6 or 7 of them. It was a decent machine. We had them overloaded with Procunier 3 tapping heads and multidrill setups and they kept on running. I would agree that an older one would be better. Andy Pullen. Gosh, I sure wouldn't mind owning a drill press like the one in the link! Post by Herm Williams » Wed Mar 31, am Go to their web site and copy or at least look over the manuals for the model It was made until Is there 3 different companies?
I believe its an older one, been repainted. It appears to be a great drill press, I just dont have any 3 phase power, so It's collecting dust until I find a cheap 1 phase motor for it.
I ran it before I bought it and its a very solid machine. Post by jake » Fri Apr 02, pm I have a buffalo, it stands 8 feet tall, weighs hundreds a pounds and could drill though anything you can find. Post by aarong » Mon Apr 05, am I'm not shure how but over ther years, starting with a little bench drill press as you described I've ended up with 3 of them.
The bench model is fine for converting to a floor model however you will have to mount it to a plate, find another base or securely bolt it down as the bench base is kind of small and wobbly at that height. The bench model's table is a nice size for any shop with space problems like mine. My machine with the small table has a second small table below it for stowing my extra vice and small fixtures. One of my 15's I built a speed reduction for and added a drum switch reversable motor onto.
